Flowers for Daisy...

Every so often we are able to use our "hobbies & careers" to help someone else in this world...this month I was asked to design with a new set that is coming out by Asela Hopkins from Gina K Designs called "Flowers for Daisy". Here is an excerpt from Gina's Blog  - $4.00 of every retail set sold will go to the American Cancer Society until the end of August through a donation of part of the proceeds from both Asela Hopkins and Gina K. Designs.

So when Asela asked if I would be interested in doing some designs and uploading them to my blog I of course could not say no! The set will be officially released tonight and be on sale July 25th...please see Gina's blog for more information.

Tweet Birdy Purse

I don't know why but for some reason  feel such PRESSURE to give above and beyond with my CHA samples and so I came up with this new purse design!!! :) I loved it the moment I found it worked! Soooo want to see some CHA samples??

As of today I am on vacation...I have been going like gang busters for the last month straight and I can finally catch my breath...so what better place to do that than on the beautiful sandy sunny beach???

However, I am THINKING AHEAD and have set up my blog to show some CHA samples I created last month. The powers that be at Tsukineko needed some Versafine samples again for CHA and asked if I would be interested....I thought, "UMM INTERESTED??? SURE THING!" lol Well, they are releasing two new ink colors at CHA and asked that I use them as the prominent colors for the projects. Again I thought "Sure no problem!" When the colors arrived I about had a heart attack!!! The one color "Habanero" sounds just like it's name!!! HOT ORANGEY RED....at first I was a bit freaked out! LOL But once I stamped with it I was IN LOVE!!!! Well the other color "Toffee" is aptly named as it looks EXACTLY like toffee candy!!! Well so then came the tough part...PAIRING THESE COLORS TOGETHER EFFECTIVELY....so I decided to go to my fav color spot - The Color Scheme Generator. Bookmark it baby, it is a great site! Anyway I found a palette I liked and then shot from the hip...Oh and did I mention that Tsukineko also wanted a "Bird Theme"... LOL Well needless to say, I was able to get these projects done....in a day and a half! ....it was a tight deadline but I was on my way to Florida two days after the inks arrived so I KNEW I had to get it all done and sent in just a day and a half!  Anyway, no more chit chat...here is my card that I created to show my color palette...the rest of the projects over the next few days will be the rest of what I came up with for this show....

Whew, what a day!!!

I head out for vacation tomorrow...we are heading to the beach for a bit, no work, no work , no work...oh and did I mention NO WORK??? Sand, Sun, Fun, Family....What could be better? So as you can imagine, I have been sooo busy getting the car packed the clothes folded and ready, the house cleaned up and ready to rock and roll....

But tonight I have a VERY SPECIAL card to share with you....and before you fall in love with the cupcake image...it is not a stamp...it is AN ORIGINAL IMAGE HAND DRAWN by a friend of mine...Mary Duffek over at MoeJoeDesigns had some really cute doodles on her blog and I commented on them and when I did she emailed and asked for my address and then SENT ME SOME!!! AHHHHH I was elated!!! I love each of them!!! But man is it stressful to color an original image...cause if you screw up you can't restamp it and start over!! LOL But anyway here is the card...I love this cupcake image...more than I can express!!!!
