Today I am taking place in the "Oh Say Can You See Blog Hop" over at SNRCardiverse (if you didn't start there be sure to hop on over there and start at the beginning!) If you came from Tammy's Blog you are on the right path! :)
So I combined my card for Unscripted Sketches 13 with the challenge of using Red, White & Blue for the blog hop! :)
My card is a tribute to our heros...those who serve in our military each and everyday to protect the freedom that our forefathers fought so hard for...to these heros I would like to say THANK YOU! HappyIndependenceDay!!!!
So a quick update on Lily Kate... her umbilical cord fell off on Sunday and I gave her her first "real bath" on Monday...she did not like it very much! LOL The pics tell the story! My oldest was the photog for the bath time...didn't he do a great job?
Lily had her two week check up yesterday and is doing great! She is 9lbs 10 oz already so she is definitely GROWING!!! :) We have been busy trying to get lots of stuff done around the house and DH has been gone on one mission already and left again for a second...the first was only three days...this one will be ten...if you think of it, say a prayer that all goes well here at home since I will have all four munchkins by myself for the next week and a half...My parents and younger brothers are coming to visit tomorrow so that will be nice!!! I will have about oh...SIX extra sets of hands by mid afternoon tomorrow and they are going to stay through mid day Sunday! YAY!! :)
Thank you all for your thoughts and best wishes! :) I hope that life gets into a routine here pretty soon so that I can start being creative again and updating my blog on a regular basis! But between now and then just know I am thinking of you all and thinking up projects to do once I do get some spare time! :) Enjoy Lily Kate's first real bath pics...LOL She was SCREAMING her little head off for most of it!!! HAHAHAHA
Ok super quick post, I have wanted to get this loaded ALL DAY but haven't been online all day! So this week's sponsor over at CPS is Renaissance By Design and as you know, I LOVE THEIR IMAGES! I hope you like my take on this week's sketch! Supplies: Stamps: Darling Damask - Renaissance By Design Ribbon: Raw Silk Taffeta Edge Ribbon - Renaissance By Design Cardstock: Stormy Dark, Papaya Puree Light, Suede Brown Light Prismatics; Simply Smooth Ivory - Prism Papers Patterned Paper: A Sweet Life Collection - Webster's Pages Ink: Dark Brown, Amber Clay & Chestnut Roan Fluid Chalk Ink - Clearsnap Dies: Nested Bird, Ribbon Tags Trio - Spellbinders Brad: Heritage Small Round Paper Fasteners - Creative Impressions Paper Crimper - Fiskars 3-D Foam Squares - Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L
Today over at Unscripted Sketches the sketch was just SCREAMING layout to me! And I had JUST the right photo for it too! I thought the best way to make this photo sing was to keep the colors clean and striking....so it was Black and White and a few accent colors... :) The Nested Butterflies Die Template set from Spellbinders is quickly becoming a "grab n go" set for me it seems...I LOVE IT!!! :) Anyway, go check out the sketch for this week and if it grabs your attention, then come play with US!!!!

The Contemporary
Hearts Pendant die templates contains a large die, a small die and two accent dies
all ranging from just over three and a half inches wide down to just over an
inch. Designed with high detail and sized for layering, the possibilities are
endless!
When I first saw the die I was assigned to use I knew exactly what I wanted to
make... a Christmas Ornament! I love adding new ornaments to my tree each year
and so I thought, why not start now rather than wait for that last minute rush
during the holiday season? Then I also thought it would be fun to make a
matching gift that could be kept out year round and so that is how the framed
artwork piece came to be! :)
I have created a step by step instructional tutorial, with photos, showing how
to create the ornament. For the framed artwork, simply use steps 1-7 to
recreate the layered pendant. Enjoy~
Victorian Layered Christmas Ornament
Designed By: Keri Lee Sereika
Supplies:
Three largest dies from - Contemporary Hearts Pendant - Spellbinders
Patterned Paper & Ruffled Taffeta Trim - Webster's Pages
Cardstock: Vanilla Cream & Birchtone Dark Prismatics - Prism Papers
Papier-mâché Rectangular Ornament - Craft Store
Krylon Hammered Finish Metallic Spray Paint
Foam Tape or 3-D Foam Squares - Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L
Gems and other Embellishments as you see fit. (Before beginning spray paint all sides and edges of papier-mâché ornament and
allow to fully dry.)
Step1 - Begin by die cutting one layer of each shape and remove from dies. You may need
to use a paper piercer or needle to help remove the die cut from the die. Each
die is designed with small holes in the back surface for just this very
reason...
Note: Due to the high detail of the dies we have found it is sometimes
beneficial to run the die through your die cut machine, turn one quarter turn
and run it through again just to be sure all edges and details have been
captured.
Step 2 - Fold the largest die cut image (the patterned paper one) in half matching the
edges.
Step 3 - Open the die cut and turn one quarter turn, fold in half again. Your die cut
image should now be creased in quarters. Open once again and turn one
eighth turn and fold in half.
Step 4 - Repeat folding and opening and turning one last time, then pinch the point of
each heart to create a "mountain / valley" fold pattern. Your die cut
shape should look like the one pictured here.
Step 5 - Place small pieces of foam tape or 3-D Foam Squares onto the top two layers
of cardstock die cut shapes and layer them onto one another and then onto
the patterned paper die cut shape.
Here is the final layered die image, isn't the detail and dimension LOVELY?
Step 6 - Use a hot glue gun to adhere trim to outside edges of painted papier-mâché
ornament base.
Step 7 - Adhere the layered Contemporary Hearts Pendant die cut to the painted papier-mâché
ornament using 3-D Foam Squares or foam tape. Embellish with gems to complete
your project!
And here is the framed art project I created to accompany my Victorian Christmas Ornament! :)
Thanks so much for hopping along with us and I hope
you enjoy my project & the rest of the projects the team has in store for
you!

So from the bottom of my heart, and the rest of the family too - THANK YOU... a thousand times, THANK YOU!

Hi!!! I thought it would be a good time for an update!
I am HOME FROM THE HOSPITAL! We were released to come home on Thursday and it is great to be home...
Lily Kate is doing great! We had to bring her for her 2day check at the pediatrician and Lily has already gained back three of the six ounces she lost! The Dr. was thrilled to see that. I was happy to hear it. :)
I took a few photos of her yesterday that I thought you would all get a kick out of! :) I will be back later on with my card for this week's Unscripted Sketch but for now, here's Lily!
This was in the hospital ... she was checking it all out.
Then here is a classic photo I do with all my kids...it started with EJ in this very basket.. LOL
Close up shot of her sweetheart face.
And one more...look at her sweet lips!! She has kissem cheeks too! LOL
Here she is, Lilyanne Kathryn Sereika came into this world last night,
at 7:38 p.m. She was a chunky 8 lbs., 15 oz., and 21" long. Momma and
Lily are doing just fine, and will be home real soon. Thanks to all of
you for your prayers and well wishes.

If you want to see more fabulous samples be sure to check out Tami's blog...she has been cranking out the MOST GORGEOUS SAMPLES for a while now.... But for now, here is my simple card...ENJOY!!

Well our sweet little blessing is a very stubborn baby and is now three days over due! LOL I am feeling good but must admit I am SERIOUSLY AGITATED tonight...I just want to get it over with already! I am just feeling a bit out of sorts...luckily we have friends coming to visit in a few minutes and I have planned to make them some banana splits! It is horribly hot and humid here today so I think a nice cold banana split will cheer us ALL up! :)
And since the baby is not yet here I have been able to get caught up on all sorts of stuff....I mailed out five packages and two cards today!!! The postage alone was nearly forty dollars!! WOW has postage gone up or WHAT???
Anywhooo...I made a cute little set for my friend Hilary's son...I had told her I would send him a little secret pal RAK THREE MONTHS AGO and it totally slipped my mind! So today I decided it was HIGH TIME I got busy and made him a fun little gift...so this is what I made! I filled the bag with candy and side walk chalk.... Enjoy!

I just wanted to pop in and let you know we are still here with no baby news yet... :) I am still feeling pretty good, thank the Lord...but I am feeling more tired than because sleep seems to run from me at an early hour of the morning! :) I will check back in with you tomorrow... :) K
Just thought I would post a quick update and let you all know I am still here, still pregnant but due tomorrow so anytime now we will be having this little bundle! :)
I have felt great up until yesterday...I just haven't "felt right" since yesterday morning...my stomach has been upset and I just feel TIRED so I am thinking we are definitely making progress! LOL
I will keep you up to date as things happen here! And I hope you all have a great week!
Our sponsor over at Card Positioning Systems this week is Hanna Stamps. I went to browse the stamps and just HAD TO HAVE this cute little Hammock Riley stamp...isn't he sweet??? I used my Labels One Nestabilities die as a stencil/mask with my Copic Airbrushing System again...I am totally addicted I think! LOL Enjoy! See you again soon! Supplies: Stamps: Hammock Riley - Hanna Stamps Inks: Tuxedo Black Memento Dye Ink - Tsukineko Copic Markers and Air Brush System Cardstock: Papaya Puree Light, Spring Willow Medium, Twilight Dark, Black Prismatics; Simply Smooth White - Prism Papers Patterned Paper - Decorative Cardstock - Unknown Dies: Labels One Nestabilities - Spellbinders Really Big Brads - Bazzill Paper Crimper, Corner Rounder Computer Generated Sentiment
Today's creation is done using the Unscripted Sketches 09 sketch! :) It is a really fun sketch that worked just right for these "new" Fancy Pants Delight Papers...tell me these colors are not just fun and funky!!!
See my "brackets" on either side of my main image? They were made using Labels One Nestabilities from Spellbinders! I first put a piece of double sided tape onto my cutting plate, then I layered the dies onto that and lined them up, and then I made sure they were stuck nicely to the tape and then placed my cardstock on top and ran it right through! You can do this same thing using the magnetic spacer plate but I find it works better when I use the double sided tape to be sure it is not going anywhere! :)
Supplies: Cardstock: Intense Kiwi, Razzleberry Dark Prismatics; Espresso - Prism Papers Patterned Papers - Delight Line - Fancy Pants Designs Dies: Labels One Nestabilities - Spellbinders Brads: Bright Sparkle Round Paperfasteners, Brass Small Round Paper Fasteners - Creative Impressions Paper flower: Prima?? 3-D Foam Squares - Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Here is the second card I did for the group of men and women who are either serving or who have served in our church. (Here is the link to the whole story! LOL)
This card is based on Unscripted Sketches 06. It was just the right layout for these images from Cornish Heritage Farms new stamp set "We Remember". I know it is totally simple and not embellished but it did the job I needed it to do and in the time frame I had to work in! I hope you enjoy!
Supplies: Cardstock: Kraft; Blush Red Dark, Black, Butter Cream Prismatics - Prism Papers Stamps: We Remember - Cornish Heritage Farms Ink: Tuxedo Black Memento Dye Ink - Tsukineko Paper Crimper
Hahaha I bet you are all amazed aren't you? I don't do layouts as much as I wish I did! I have been trying to do two a month but this month only seemed to squeak in one... :( Anyway this was for the Show Us Your Backsides Challenge over at Inspire Me - Webster's Pages Ning Community. (If you haven't joined you really should! Lot's of fun stuff there!) What fun it was to really focus on the backsides of the papers! :)
This was the first time I have used my Heirloom Scroll Border from Spellbinders and I just have to say: "I AM IN LOVE"...what a beautiful edge it gives to the paper!!! Enjoy!
Supplies Used:
A Sweet Life Backsides, Storytellers Letters and Trims - Webster's Pages
Cardstock: Natural Felt, Espresso; Spring Willow Medium & Vanilla Cream Prismatics - Prism Papers
Dies: Heirloom Scroll Border, Labels Four Nestabilities - Spellbinders
It seems like there are sketch sites EVERYWHERE now! LOL I found one I really like called Unscripted Sketches (Thanks to a member of their DT - Steph!) and am going to try to keep up with them as best I can. Their newest sketch goes live on Saturday mornings... this week's sketch was ALOT of fun! I hope you like it too! I have used two Spellbinders Dies on this card and altered each so that you can see how ELSE to use the dies...instead of just die cutting and sticking them on I am trying to see what else these dies are good for! LOL The first is the Nested Flower...I cut three layers, punched a hole in the middle, placed the brad in the hole then snipped through all three layers down to the brad with my paper snips to create a nice little petaled flower...Like it?? Then with the Long Scalloped Rectangle Large I die cut that cute little scalloped strip you see peeking out from under the patterned paper panel... isn't that fun?? Enjoy the happy colors...they are kinda out of my norm, I admit, but I am trying to stretch myself there too! :D
This week our sponsor over at Card Positioning Systems is Innovative Stamp Creations. It is always a treat to see what Betsy sends us in her very generous packages!!! :) And these newest floral sets are no exception. I loved how dainty yet solid this image was! Then pairing it with the Labels Four die made it "just right" for the sketch! I was really happy to see how well the images worked with the die! :) Sometimes it is the little things right?? LOL Enjoy!!
