I don't know about you but I sure hate spending $4.00-$5.00 on gift wrap. A nice gift bag and tissue will EASILY run you that much. Well today, I am going to share with you how to make a handmade gift bag. We will begin with a small brown handled bag and just embellish it!
I like to start by picking out the papers, ribbons and embellishments I am going to work with. Plug in the Designer High Temp hot glue gun from AdTech Adhesives and you're all set to start creating!
Cut the paper the width of the bag you are going to use and about a quarter thick as the bag is tall. Apply Permanent Bond Tape Runner GENEROUSLY to the back of the paper. Because of the weight of and thickness of the ribbon, you want to be sure the paper is going to hold well.
Wrap the edges of the rosette ribbon around the edges of the paper and press the paper to the bag. Burnish well to help the strip adhere fully.
Use the hot glue gun to help adhere the ribbon to the front of the paper.
Use the hot glue to adhere the Bead Gallery by Halcraft crystal broach bead to the left edge of the ribbon between two rosettes.
Hold the crystal brooch until the glue cools completely.
Add a few sheets of tissue paper and you are all set! I have left this bag relatively simple so that I can pair any type of card with it, Mother's Day, Birthday, Get Well Soon etc. :)
I hope you have enjoyed this quick craft! Let's see what you are making! Leave me a link!
