A card...on time with the regular schedule for once! :)

I have to admit life has been hectic this past week and a half. One week ago Sunday we got home from our cruise. One week ago Tuesday Adam left for a three month deployment to Washington DC. One week ago today Elliott fell out of bed at 2:30am and broke his arm. It will be one week tomorrow since Elliott had to have surgery to set his arm. And then right following that we drove to NC to go to the twins one year old birthday party, then drove home again Sunday morning....so yeah...it's been a very hectic week here....today we go back to the Ortho to have a re exam and Xray and get a new cast put on EJ's arm....please pray all's well there...because he broke his growth plate we have to be very careful and keep an eye on the healing process...we are hoping to avoid any complications!!!

Back home and getting into the swing of things...

Well I just spent a lovely week with my honey on a cruise of the Western Carribean...it was wonderful to just have a few days of time with "just us". :) We got home on Sunday afternoon and he has now deployed to Washington DC for 2-3 MONTHS...UGH the not so fun part of Military life...

Anyway, I was looking through some files and realized that I never shared my CPS258 card with you all! I really liked how this one came out because I felt the buttons were so perfect for the sketch and the stamps! All of the buttons came from Buttons Galore & More Gold Bulk Button Pack. I just clipped off the shanks and glued them onto the card front and the knot in the center of my bow. I hope you enjoy!

Just a note...

Today is quick and simple...I just did a fun little note card for my Card Positioning Systems card this week. It's an easy sketch to whip together so I hope you have time to play with us! :)

Create handmade embellishments....

Using stamps, Mold Maker by Sculpey & Sculpey clay!!!! I used a stamp from the stamp set Gifts of the Sea to create these two fun shells...first I stamped the Mold Maker with the stamp, then baked and cooled. Once cooled I pressed clay into my newly created mold, then baked the clay shells and used them as my embellishments. Fun and sooo creative! :)

Okay, so it's always a sad time when the season of guest designing with a company you really love is over! Getting to work closely with manufacturer's is always such a pleasure to me and working with Layers of Color this past month has been a blast...well a few weeks into my GD spot, Laura (owner of LOC) emailed and asked if I would consider joining the team as the newest LOC Designer!!!! YAY!!!!!! I had to think about it, making a commitment is NEVER taken lightly by me and I wanted to be sure I would not be hindering any other commitments I am being held to already...I also wanted to talk to my adoring husband...he supports me in my endeavours but also is a great sounding board when I am thinking of taking on anything new. After a few days talking it over, praying about it, thinking through the logistics I was thrilled to be able to say YES YES YES! :)

This week's card is based on this week's CPS layout. I adore when Tami does a "different sized" sketch. While we can make our cards any size or shape, when she does the work for me it makes me think outside my normal "A2" card size. :)

 The sentiment was  stamped from Nina Brackett’s Encouragement art stamp set. I then airbrushed the piece using my Copic ABS BEFORE I removed Spellbinder’s Labels Eighteen die. This uses the die as a mask for the very edge of the sentiment panel.  Enjoy!

 

 

 

 

 

 

Another that nearly slipped through the cracks!

This morning I wanted to share a CPS card from a few weeks back. The Stamps of Life was sponsoring that week and somehow I managed to forget to upload this card as well! I like the fact that clear stamps can be bent and tweaked to fit just the right way for any type of project. For this card I bent the image just a bit so I could have it fill more of the panel I was stamping in. Tying a HUGE bow at the top...well that was just F-U-N!

You're a Rock Star card

Being back on the CPS team is going great! I have had fun tackling the challenge of creating from a sketch again on a regular basis. It's fun to have the challenge as well as the inspiration!

This week's card was totally FUN and hip. I decided to go for more of a paper crafted look than a "stampy" look ~ Enjoy!

{Hey you} - The Stamps of Life card with stamping on FABRIC

I was blessed with a few kid free hours this morning...I woke at 5:26 and no one is up yet...and it's past SEVEN! YIPPEE!!!

I jumped into the studio and decided to try some stamping onto canvas. I am not sure if you have made the mental note or not but canvas is HOT HOT HOT right now. Well I had purchased a small piece when I was at Walmart a while back. It was 60" wide so I just got a .110 length...for FIFTY FOUR CENTS....I could make about forty of these cards using just that little piece of canvas I bought!! But anyway, I first die cut the canvas using a Sizzix die...but I then found that my Spellbinders Dies WILL CUT THIS THICK CANVAS...(Look for a tutorial soon!)

I then stamped onto my die cut canvas using Clearsnap Colorbox Pigment Ink and The Stamps of Life  - Hello2You set. Now notice, the "you" on my card doesn't have the "?"...well I simply snipped it off from the image from the set that read "you?"...Just take very sharp scissors and two snips and you can now make sentiments like "Hey you" & "hello you" and anytime you need the "?" you can use it by itself or put it right back up against the "you" it came attached to. Bingo! Custom Stamps! LOL I also used the "Thanks2You" set for the spray of wiry flowers that are behind my main image.

My Card Positioning Systems Card of the Week

If you have spent ANY TIME AT ALL on my blog you know I have a special spot in my heart for Impression Obsession stamps...it's like they climb into my hands and the projects make themselves...I have a few companies like that and IO is one of em! I also love working with Mitra (IO Owner) because she's a HOOT! An absolute hoot! LOL Anyway, my CPS card this week showcases some of my FAVE stamps from IO - Solid Florals...this is a serious MUST HAVE, ALWAYS REACH FOR set for me! My two year old recently scattered the stamps from this set all over the house and I am still missing a few...I am sooo bummed..... But I still have this one and so I hope you enjoy!
