30 Days of Thankfulness: 4 and You Make The Grade

Today I spent a few hours planning the next two weeks worth of meals, shopping for said meal and making room for all those groceries in my fridge and pantry...today I am thankful for an abundance of food in a wide varitey of flavors and styles. We are a blessed country and so often we forget that so many go to bed hungry each night. I am thankful that I have enough food, and that I have OPTIONS of what I want to eat!

 

 

Today I have last week's CPS card to share with you. A cute "School girl" card just fit my mood last week! I was in the midst of putting the finishing touches on a huge project, keeping my boys up and going on their school and planning classes for early next year....talk about a "school mode & mentality"....

Last week's sponsor was My Favorite Things and they really have such a sweet feel to their Sweet Innocence Line. And their newest dies are "to die for"! LOL Enjoy!

Fast Friday - A Triple Dip! (make that a QUADRUPLE DIP!)

I have been blogging ahead this month so that I could stay on top of things and today was the first day I had not loaded in advance... I am glad I didn't though because there were a few SUPER FUN challenges that I decided to do! :)

The first is for Clean & Simple Stamping 157. I loved this sketch when I say Amy's card here and made a mental note to play along..now I have nearly missed my chance! LOL

Well earlier this week I had shared a card using Kraft cardstock  & my CPS Sketch.  Beth had commented and invited me to play along at The Kraft Journal Challenge (Use Kraft CS & a Sketch) - So this card falls into their challenge again!

Then finally this card also falls into the CAS-ual Friday's Challenge to make a "small card" (4"x4" or smaller).

I used some really fun things on this card and thought now that you have a fun list of challenges to play along with this weekend you might want to know what I did for my card! :)

My stamps used are from Impression Obsession. They are the Cover A Card - Music & a sweet baby set that I can't seem to find online so it very well may be discontinued - so sorry! I inked the CAC with Tsukineko's Cotton White VersaMagic, then crumpled up a piece of scrap paper and pounced it accross the surface of the stamp so that I could create that "not perfect" stamped image. The sentiment is stamped using Midnight Black VersaMagic. A great ink for stamping onto lightly textured cardstock like this one here.

I then diecut my felt using Spellbinders Nested Duck die to do the little ducky and then I embellished him using some buttons from the button jar, some Cappuccino  Twine from The Twinery & a mini pearl from Want2Scrap. Enjoy!

 

 

 

Fast Friday: Let's Do Lunch Tag

I am starting a new little "featurette" at my local scrap store Charleston Scrapbooking. This week we will be meeting at eleven so I can share how I made this tag over a quick lunch date. The colors were inspired by City Crafter Challenge Blog #46 this week. Think Spring!

Fast Friday - Silversmithing - FIRST PROJECT! :D

These last two days of class were AMAZING!!!! I had so much fun and I just can't tell you how full of info it was! And the ring...not too shabby right?

Now, the flowers and leaf at called "castings" which are like charms that are made without a loop on them that you solder onto the silver. The balls, swirl and bezel (what holds the stone in place) we created from scratch for our pieces. I also created the three layer band that is the ring bad itself....I had such a great time and can't wait to invest in all the tools necessary to start doing this from home! :) Okay I gotta go scoot and see my kids who have been wonderful the past two days with the babysitters! :) Enjoy!

 

Fast Friday #1 - Autumn Votive Cover

Today is my first day of actually DOING my Fast Friday idea that I stole from my buddy Niki, the creative creature that she is! LOL I had a blast doing this up and think I just may do one more so I can have two on my dining room table... To create this all I did was cut a sheet of vellum in half so I had two pieces 5.50". I then cut two 2.25" x 5.50" pieces of dark brown cardstock. I placed the Vintage Medallion Art Stencil by Layers of Color onto the center of one sheet of vellum and air-brushed it using my Copic Air Brushing System. I then placed both layers of vellum between the folded pieces of cardstock  and adhered the over the edges of the vellum. I used Liquid Pearls and Stickles to embellish the front and bam, DONE! :) I hope you enjoy!
