Laying low...

Hello my faithful readers! :)

I am admittedly still laying low for a bit. We have found a good groove with school I think and I am still going through the house and organizing from the inside out! What a chore it is to sort through four kids worth of clothing, toys and all that jazz...whew...I do believe I am getting to the end of it all though...wish me luck! LOL

Today at Unscripted Sketches we have a really nifty sketch for you to try out. I decided to make mine a card (surprise, surprise) but this time with a twist! :) I added a pretty little set of earrings as my main focal point. I used a few of my newer dies from Spellbinders... In Spades Pendant and Borderablities...Then pairing it with stamps from Flourishes I felt like the earrings had a perfect base! :) Enjoy!!!

Ok so here's the layout WITH A SKETCH ... and TWO contests :)

Today I thought I would share my layout with you! The photo is one I took when I was asked to shoot my brother's wedding in Sept 2007... you will see more of these photos probably! LOL Anyway this page shows how you can utilize MINIMAL embellishments and really make your photos and cardstock "make the page". :) (hint hint for all you who want a chance at being Prism's Guest Blog Designer ). I used stamps from Flourishes, Cardstock from Prism, Ink from Tsukinekos and Dies from Spellbinders....  Now here is where the contest comes in... tee hee hee... I have FOUR SPELLBINDERS PRODUCTS on this layout...can you find them? If you think you can email me which FOUR PRODUCTS I have used....I will put all the CORRECT ENTRIES into a jar and draw one to win a prize!!!! :) So TAKE YOUR TIME and see if you can figure it out! :) This will be fun!

Very Easy Stamped Jewelry

Ok well by the time you read this I will be on my way to Cali and getting ready to have a blast all week with everyone at CHA!!! And since I am heading out to CHA I thought I should whip up some "artsy jewelry" to wear while I was there...and so I did up a few pieces...these two are the easiest things ever! I first started with these fabulous necklace and bracelet blanks from Amate Studios. Then I stamped a 3/4" square of cardstock using the Thinking of You set from Flourishes again. I then sponged the edges and clear embossed the entire top surface so that when I moved on to the next step I didn't have to worry about the ink smearing. I then took Ranger Crackle Accents and adhered the cardstock inside the empty blanks and then filled them in using Crackle Accents...then I just let it dry and as it dried I just kept filling the entire blank in with multiple layers and let it dry fully overnight and it dried up  and cracked just like you see here! Fun right?? Enjoy~

Back again, an announcement and a card!

The 5^th Anniversary party for Spellbinders Paper Arts is now over. Spellbinders’ staff is  hurrying-- scurrying to get all the little details finished for the big “party” in Anaheim at the Craft and Hobby Association Trade Show. You still have until 11:59 CST, January 21, to enter Trudee Sauer’s blog contest. Then Spellbinders will be drawing for the Grand Prize Winner, and will announce the Grand Prize winner on the Spellbinders Blog on January 31.

And now onto the card! I have been blessed by the fact that I have some companies who send their newest product on a regular basis. One of those companies is Flourishes. They have really beautiful images and their newest release is no exception! I have the privilege of sharing a card that uses both Thinking of You as well as Lace & Trim. I adore the style of these images and can't wait to have MORE TIME to play with them...but between the Spellbinders release, CHA Assignments, CPS stuff and regular old deadlines I haven't had as much time as I would like to love on these stamps...and although I did this card in the beautiful green and brown combo I can't wait to try it out in say reds, yellows, creams and sepia...oh ssoooo yummy right??? Making your every gift special.

While searching for inspiration I stumbled onto a fabulous video by Carlos N Molina on how to create simple but really beautiful wine bottle wraps. Well I was asked to Guest Design for Webster's Pages this month and this Starbright paper from the Winter Wonderland Collection just happened to work BEAUTIFULLY for this project...FUN RIGHT??? Did you see the tag? It is created using the Scalloped Paisley Nestabilities Die by Spellbinders. I love it's quirky shape as a gift tag! It makes me want to giggle for some reason! LOL The little embellishment on the tag is actually a stamped image from the Flourishes set, Poinsettia and Boxwood that I stamped, cut out, glittered and shaped with a stylus. The greeting is from Holiday Greetings. I told you you would be seeing more of these sets... :D Enjoy!

Christmas carols, Christmas Cards, oh the joy of the Season...

I love this time of year...even with all the hustle bustle I love to reflect on the real reason we celebrate Christmas...CHRIST....what an amazing gift....and I love to think about how we translate that gift to others...One was we as cardmakers can share love is to send cards...I like to send a few out to people who might just be surprised to get a happy note! :) Well this card I decided to send to the gal coordinating our homeschool groups Christmas party....I had to send her a check so I just dressed it up a bit...well I saw her tonight and she was like "Oh my gosh you could have just sent a check...you didn't have to send a beautiful card!!!" I just laughed, smiled and got that happy warm feeling I get when I know I made someone's day just a bit brighter....

For this card there are a few things I want to point out...one...see the Curved Rectangles from Spellbinders? Don't they just add a hint of sophistication to this card??? I LOVE EM!!!
And second....don't you love the greeting??? It is from Holiday Greetings a set by Flourishes that you will be seeing ALOT more of this month....talk about fabulous!! The background was created by stamping the small poinsettia image from their set Poinsettia and Boxwood...another set you will be seeing more of...I can not wait to watercolor the larger poinsettia image! And last but not least..this fun layout is this week's Card Positioning Systems sketch! If you haven't done it yet go do it!!! It is a fun one! Enjoy~
