I am so thrilled to welcome you to the Exquisite Embellishments Blog Hop! This is the release of my second book and I couldn't be happier to share this special day with you all, my blog readers! Thanks for always keeping me on my toes and helping me to believe in myself...it has truly been a major part in making these books happen!

I have to also thank my AMAZING TEAM OF DESIGNERS!!! These pages are once again FILLED with the talent and creativity of some of the top designers in the paper crafting industry! And so without further ado I present to you "Exquisite Embellishments for Paper Crafts"!!!

 

Isn't it GORGEOUS????? The cover boasts art work from three different designers who have been featured in the book, Sherry Wright, Kandis Smith & Sharon Reinhart. And let me tell you that is just a taste of the delights that grace each and every page!
I had the honor of also being able to add a few of my own projects to my book and I thought I would share one with you today. Here's one that I loved how it came out. While it's simple, I felt the EMBELLISHMENTS really hit a home run! Drawing inspiration from nature and the "sandy color theme" I felt the use of raffia paper ribbon, mother of pearl button, self adhesive pearls and just  hint of fine lace really made this card "complete". I hope you enjoy!

Create Button Elements In Groups

A card...yes can you believe it? I am actually sharing a card today! :) I keep forgetting to blog my CPS cards for each week's sketch so for the next few days you will have a few cards to enjoy! :) This week we had a sponsor but it wasn't a product sponsor so we were all free to use whatever supplies we wanted! I love getting a "free week" because it's fun to mix, match and go kinda crazy now and again! :) I am a newly added member of the Buttons Galore & More Design Team and so I thought I would really add some happy fun to the simple sentiment with a cluster of buttons from the Girly Collection.  By mixing up the type of twine tied through the holes you get a whole different feel than if I had used the same in each, or God forbid left them "naked"!!! GASP!!

Create handmade embellishments....

Using stamps, Mold Maker by Sculpey & Sculpey clay!!!! I used a stamp from the stamp set Gifts of the Sea to create these two fun shells...first I stamped the Mold Maker with the stamp, then baked and cooled. Once cooled I pressed clay into my newly created mold, then baked the clay shells and used them as my embellishments. Fun and sooo creative! :)

Today I was sitting here getting some more troops cards counted and ready to send downrange and I realized I made this fun little card on Saturday and NEVER POSTED IT! Grrrr...I just got busy and didn't get it on here...oh well, the best intentions - right?

 

This card was created for the Gina K Designs Blog Hop. And while it's late I still love how it came out so I thought I would just go ahead and post it anyway! I used the Just Be-Claws set. I have had this set FOREVER and I have always loved this fun little image! LOL It makes me happy just to look at it. I also used the layout from Clean & Simple Stamping Challenge Blog #129. I paired the images and sketch with papers from Pink Paislee...I really enjoyed the combination of straight lines and oval curves of this layout. I hope you enjoy!

 

Jingle Belles 05 - Merry & Bright

Today I decided to take part in the Jingle Belles Christmas Card Challenge. They had a sketch brought to them by Amy Tsuruta and it was a perfect sketch to make some quick and easy Christmas cards. And since I have high hopes of making one or two Christmas cards each week between now and the beginning of November, I figured it was a great way to jump start this ambition. :) I went ahead and made two cards at one time so that I could accomplish my goal for this week EARLY IN THE WEEK! Whoot! Enjoy!

Scrappy Saturday & City Crafter Challenge 41 - Sew Fun

This week's challenge over at City Crafter Challenge Blog is "Sew Fun" - either sew on your project or make your project sewing themed. I thought this was a perfect time to pull out my sewn ruffled ribbon I made a few weeks back...it's the easiest embellishement to make and has such a fun impact, don't you think?  And in an attempt to get into the Scrappy Saturday theme (where I either scrap a layout or use up scraps around my studio) I am also trying desperately to use up some SUPER FUN paper scraps that are just happy both in color and theme. They are by American Crafts and I bought them at my LSS Charleston Scrapbooking. Tell me they don't just make you giggle for SPRING....I miss the warmth and sunshine this week especially...so here's some more SPRING for all you out there who are like me and can't wait to be warm again! LOL :) Enjoy!

CAS125 - Rock Star

Today I found a new (to me) blog called Clean & Simple Stamping...and it is just that - CLEAN AND SIMPLE. Well this weeks challenge was a very fun and simple sketch. If you want to challenge yourself to NOT ADD TOO MUCH this challenge blog is for you!

I used a few of Gina K Designs sets for this card... Stars by Tami Mayberry, Vintage Backgrounds by Nina Brackett and Kindred Greetings for Him. Throw in a bit of Clearsnap Frost Pigment Ink, Chesnut Roan Fluid Chalk ink and BAM! Done! Rock Star card complete :) Enjoy!

 

Simple Sunday: Thinking of you card

For my first "Simple Sunday" I decided to ink up a brand new set by Melanie Muenchinger called A Year of Borders. It's a great set on it's own but it also coordinates with all of her other nature sets offered by Gina K Designs. Check it out! I also grabbed another set offered through Gina K Designs that is by Nina Brackett called Elegant Post. It just has the most beautiful sentiments with it, and I thought this one went just perfectly with Mel's sweet Autumn border.

Today I decided to go super simple. Just stamp stamp stamp, watercolor, adhere, wrap with ribbon, tie bow and stick a button on for good luck, adhere all other layers and DONE! :) I hope you enjoy my "Simple Sunday" concept. The purpose is to do something fun and simple that will bring joy to the persons who see it.

Seeing Stars...still...

Tonight is the Gina K Designs Design Team Challenge blog hop. Tami asked if a few of us would like to contribute using her new set Stars. I am still loving this set and so how could I refuse??? The theme for the blog hop is "Favorite Summer Memories". One of my favorite things about summer is all the extra time I get to spend with my friends...well that and all the fresh fruits and veggies you can eat! I loved that Tami took the time to put really nifty quotes and sentiments with this set. You can never have enough quotes about GREAT FRIENDS!!!
