Okay so where do I start??? I guess I will just start and go from here!
There has been quite a bit going on around here as of late. I am currently now homeschooling three of our four kiddos. We have a daily schedule that has really helped me to be able to actually accomplish school with them AS WELL AS some other stuff. :) We are now nearly through our third week and I feel like not only are we "getting into the groove" but the kids are really LIKING school this year. I have had comments like "This is so fun, can we do one more?" and "Can we do writing EVERY DAY"...some not as positive like "Ugh...this takes me FOREVER" to which I cheerily reply, "Well, surely you don't mean FOREVER, because otherwise you would NEVER have time to do anything else, right?" hehehe
I have had my DH home for nearly the entire month of August. He had three short, stateside missions ranging from 2-3 days each...other than that it's been a month of family time, house projects and date nights! :) (Another reason I was able to get everything set up and organized here at home and here on my blog)
So let's talk business - Let's talk blogging. I have been looking through past years of my blog trying to figure out if I should even keep blogging....I do this each year when it is time to pay for Typepad's great service...I think to myself, "Should I even keep blogging?" Then I quickly remind myself how much I truly love to blog and keep doing it one more year. This year was the closest I have come to NOT PAYING FOR ANOTHER YEAR! I looked back and in the last eight months I have posted an average of only 2-3 times a week and have not done many "good blog posts" at all. When I think of a good blog post I think it ought to inspire & educate, challenge & provoke interest. A great many of my posts of late have been kinda "hey here's my project - Enjoy". In years prior I would give supply lists, I would give info as to what and how I had done it, I would often do tutorials... I miss that level of quality on my blog. SO all that to say, watch for changes around here. I am hoping to do a better job of giving full supply lists again as well as MUCH more frequent tutorials. :) I also will be doing a greater variety of projects. Not just stamping/papercrafting with a bit of jewelry thrown in. I have been dabbling in silversmithing, polymer clay and home dec/ home organization a great deal lately and I don't know why I haven't shared on here! (I may even start posting recipes and meal ideas on here too)
Now let's talk scheduling - I am now back on the Card Positioning Systems Design Team. I am scheduled to post on CPS once a week on Thursdays. So it just seems LOGICAL for me to post my CPS card here on my blog on Thursday as well, right? However, I want to remind you on SUNDAY that the new card sketch is up so you have time to create a card, upload it and put your link up at CPS because we have some AWESOME sponsors coming up and they have GREAT gifts for our readers!! So what I am thinking is that I will post a "reminder post" combined with a "sneak peek" of what I will be doing during the week on Sunday's so that you can all a) run and get your CPS card done first thing in the week, and b) mark your calendars to COME BACK and see whatever project I gave a sneak peek of that is coming up for that week. :)
Okay if you are still with me to this point CONGRATULATIONS! We are nearly to the fun stuff I promise! :)
Two last things and we are done. heheh
One - today is Day 1 of my Project 365 - a photo a day. I have started a new blog just for that and will be placing the link in my sidebar and making an announcement once I have loaded my first photo. FUN!
Lastly, A PROJECT! I have been dying to learn how to make wire wrapped rings. I knew it was simple I just never sat down to try. So this morning I did! I honestly didn't finish the first one, I missed a vital step to keep the wraps neat and I hated it...so I didn't waste my time in trying to finish it I just tossed it aside.
So please keep in mind - this is only my SECOND wire wrapped ring and there are still a few "defects" on it! LOL
And in honor of you all reading my mini novel, errrr I mean UPDATE I am giving away a wire wrapped ring! It will NOT BE THIS RING. Once a winner is announced I will need you to send me your ring size. If you do not know your ring size don't worry I have a way to still make you a custom ring and we will get into that once the name has been drawn.
