Pink Lemonade

A quick card to get the juices flowing....

I have been working hard to get a project deadline all done...it's a HUGE project (15 projects actually!) and I just had to take a minute (or five) away and whip up something quick and simple. I love this new Vertical Greetings II stamp set / die combo from My Favorite Things. Talk about taking the stress out of it all! :) This card was done in no time! I just die cut the cardstock, stamped the sentiment, added some fun Want2Scrap bling (on sale for just .99 cents today!!!), tied a cute bow and embellished it with a mother of pearl button from the Genuine Vintage Tin put it all on the Bo Bunny papers & Bazzill cardstock base and done! :) enjoy!

 

 

 

You're The Best....Plane & Simple

 

I loved this sentiment when I saw it! My hubby flies the C-17 Globemaster for the USAF and so I of course had to have this set by My Favorite Things! I mean, talk about perfect!!! This is my CPS card from a few weeks ago, yes I forgot to load it! It seems I am a much better creator than I am blogger lately! I have 24 project photos loaded to blog about but just have been whirling along not taking the time to blog them! 

This week we are in DC visiting my sweet love who has been deployed up here since the third week of April....it was time to get some "Daddy time" for all the kids so we hopped in the car and will get to visit with him for a few days....it's wonderfully refreshing to see all fo my children piled on top of him in the hotel room bed all trying to get snuggled up and comfy to watch some "Deadliest Catch".... LOL!!! I hope you have a wonderful week! I will try to snap a few photos of us as we "do the tourist thing" here in Washington DC....until then, ENJOY!!!

Okay business out of the way, I have a delightful card to share with you today. It's my card for this week's CPS Card Sketch. I thought this would be the perfect card to share today as it's heavily embellished yet delicately balanced and I thought I would make a few pointers on it.

First, it has not one but FIVE buttons...can you find them all? The use of buttons in layers and as centers to bows is a great way to "kick it up a notch" without going overboard and loosing the focus of your card, which in this case is the Clearly Sentimental About Birthdays sentiment by My Favorite Things. This card also has two sizes and two colors of bling by Want2Scrap....I am their guest designer this month so I felt it necessary to add TWO types of bling...JUST KIDDING, I am in fact their guest designer but when I went to add my bling I did two things, I looked at lines and scale and I looked at color and "open space". Adding a strip coming out from behind the sentiment panel really helps the sentiment to shine...you may not have noticed if I had left this strip off but WOW what a difference it made it stepping up this card....I then said hmmm I need just a little POP! in that bottom right corner to balance the top left...and BAM two quick dots of beautiful deep blue bling and my card was complete! So don't be afraid of embellishing, just THINK IT THROUGH FIRST and make sure you are EMBELLISHING the focal, vs CROWDING it out. Enjoy!!

A card...on time with the regular schedule for once! :)

I have to admit life has been hectic this past week and a half. One week ago Sunday we got home from our cruise. One week ago Tuesday Adam left for a three month deployment to Washington DC. One week ago today Elliott fell out of bed at 2:30am and broke his arm. It will be one week tomorrow since Elliott had to have surgery to set his arm. And then right following that we drove to NC to go to the twins one year old birthday party, then drove home again Sunday morning....so yeah...it's been a very hectic week here....today we go back to the Ortho to have a re exam and Xray and get a new cast put on EJ's arm....please pray all's well there...because he broke his growth plate we have to be very careful and keep an eye on the healing process...we are hoping to avoid any complications!!!

30 Days of Thankfulness: 4 and You Make The Grade

Today I spent a few hours planning the next two weeks worth of meals, shopping for said meal and making room for all those groceries in my fridge and pantry...today I am thankful for an abundance of food in a wide varitey of flavors and styles. We are a blessed country and so often we forget that so many go to bed hungry each night. I am thankful that I have enough food, and that I have OPTIONS of what I want to eat!

 

 

Today I have last week's CPS card to share with you. A cute "School girl" card just fit my mood last week! I was in the midst of putting the finishing touches on a huge project, keeping my boys up and going on their school and planning classes for early next year....talk about a "school mode & mentality"....

Such Cuteness!!

This morning I wanted to share a CPS card from a few weeks back. My Favorite Things was sponsoring that week and somehow I managed to forget to upload this cute little girl! I used the same patterned paper on her pants as I used on the BG of the card. Then I colored in her shirt, hair, skin & flowers using water color pencils & a blending pen. See the cute little butterfly layered onto the die cut bread tag??? Tell me that stamp/die set from MFT is not the BEST EVER!!! :) Enjoy!

I have a dual challenge card for you today! The challenge over at CCCB is "All you need is love" - you have to use the word "love" or a heart on your card. I was able to incorporate both! Yipee! Fab Friend...

I AM ONE!! Some weeks back Kim at My Favorite Things asked me to be this week's Fab Friend. Kim and I go waaaay back...I think I had her ORIGINAL stamp sets while they were still in production mode...such fond memories... Hi!!! Back again!

Well I did it! I got the studio to rights and created for fun! I have had some of the new My Favorite Things Die-namics sitting here on my workspace for TWO PLUS MONTHS!!! I love this one! It's the Scalloped Scallop Die-namic. Isn't it sooo cute!? I used National Nonwovens Pink Violet WoolFelt. I love how well this felt cuts and holds both shape and detail. I paired it up with a cute Pure Innocence set called Happy Mail. I used my colored pencils and Gamsol to color and blend in the main image. Then put it all together and bam, cute & happy little card! Enjoy!

As long as you aren't sick of cupcakes yet... LOL

My seven year old made cupcakes today all by himself...he cracked the eggs, added the right amount of oil and water, turned on and off the mixer...everything - all I did was oversee...it made me proud...and kinda sad...he's getting so big!!! Then each kid decorated six cupcakes and we brought eighteen different cupcakes to our fab friend and babysitter - Kelsi, who turned EIGHTEEN today!! Happy Bday Kels!!!

My DH and I celebrated our NINTH anniversary...wow where has the time gone?? And while he is half a world away it didn't stop him from writing me the sweetest email that made tears come to my eyes.....I am so in love with this guy!!

And finally - It's St. Patrick's Day!!! So I of course had to share a St Paddy's Day card with you all! :) I got some new Pure Innocence stamps from My Favorite Things a few days ago and I LOOOOVE this one!! The sentiment and BG is from Hampton Art's Studio G line...cute right?I also thought the new Labels Ten from Spellbinders seemed to fit just RIGHT! :) Enjoy!
