Ok so Typepad is acting REALLY WEIRD tonight...so I am not sure if this post is going to run or not tomorrow....
But anyway here goes!!! Today we have a sketch over at Jacksonbelle Embellishments Blog! You know how I love a good sketch! LOL This card I did up for my Pastor & his family. October is Pastor Appreciation Month and we as a congregation all contributed cards and gifts to show our pastor and his family how much we appreciate their constant service to us as the congregation. The main image is from Our Daily Bread Designs, and inside the card it reads "your ministry is a blessing"....LOVE IT!
The papers are from the Pink Paislee line Amber Road, the flourish is from Making Memories & the ribbon, of course, is from May Arts. :) Have you told someone how much they mean to you lately? It doesn't have to be your pastor, it could be anyone...but DO IT! Make a point today of expressing how you feel toward someone who really ought to know! Enjoy!!!

The Contemporary
Hearts Pendant die templates contains a large die, a small die and two accent dies
all ranging from just over three and a half inches wide down to just over an
inch. Designed with high detail and sized for layering, the possibilities are
endless!
When I first saw the die I was assigned to use I knew exactly what I wanted to
make... a Christmas Ornament! I love adding new ornaments to my tree each year
and so I thought, why not start now rather than wait for that last minute rush
during the holiday season? Then I also thought it would be fun to make a
matching gift that could be kept out year round and so that is how the framed
artwork piece came to be! :)
I have created a step by step instructional tutorial, with photos, showing how
to create the ornament. For the framed artwork, simply use steps 1-7 to
recreate the layered pendant. Enjoy~
Victorian Layered Christmas Ornament
Designed By: Keri Lee Sereika
Supplies:
Three largest dies from - Contemporary Hearts Pendant - Spellbinders
Patterned Paper & Ruffled Taffeta Trim - Webster's Pages
Cardstock: Vanilla Cream & Birchtone Dark Prismatics - Prism Papers
Papier-mâché Rectangular Ornament - Craft Store
Krylon Hammered Finish Metallic Spray Paint
Foam Tape or 3-D Foam Squares - Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L
Gems and other Embellishments as you see fit. (Before beginning spray paint all sides and edges of papier-mâché ornament and
allow to fully dry.)
Step1 - Begin by die cutting one layer of each shape and remove from dies. You may need
to use a paper piercer or needle to help remove the die cut from the die. Each
die is designed with small holes in the back surface for just this very
reason...
Note: Due to the high detail of the dies we have found it is sometimes
beneficial to run the die through your die cut machine, turn one quarter turn
and run it through again just to be sure all edges and details have been
captured.
Step 2 - Fold the largest die cut image (the patterned paper one) in half matching the
edges.
Step 3 - Open the die cut and turn one quarter turn, fold in half again. Your die cut
image should now be creased in quarters. Open once again and turn one
eighth turn and fold in half.
Step 4 - Repeat folding and opening and turning one last time, then pinch the point of
each heart to create a "mountain / valley" fold pattern. Your die cut
shape should look like the one pictured here.
Step 5 - Place small pieces of foam tape or 3-D Foam Squares onto the top two layers
of cardstock die cut shapes and layer them onto one another and then onto
the patterned paper die cut shape.
Here is the final layered die image, isn't the detail and dimension LOVELY?
Step 6 - Use a hot glue gun to adhere trim to outside edges of painted papier-mâché
ornament base.
Step 7 - Adhere the layered Contemporary Hearts Pendant die cut to the painted papier-mâché
ornament using 3-D Foam Squares or foam tape. Embellish with gems to complete
your project!
And here is the framed art project I created to accompany my Victorian Christmas Ornament! :)
Thanks so much for hopping along with us and I hope
you enjoy my project & the rest of the projects the team has in store for
you!

I spent the best few hours on Thursday with some of my bestest stamping buddies!!! It was great...there was no "agenda", no pressure to perform, no nothing...it was a "come over and wing it" night at my friend Michelle's house....I had a blast! I also learned a "new technique"...I say "new" because I have done it before but never like this!!! The technique is called Floating Reinker or something like that but Patty over at Patty's Stamping Spot did it using a new Stampin' Up Set and made Watercolor Roses....they are BEAUTIFUL! Here is a direct link to her tutorial...
We made the roses at Michelle's then we all brought them home to create our final project...here is mine! :) It has TONS of companies on there: Stampin Up!, Cornish Heritage Farms, Our Daily Bread Designs, Prism, Renaissance By Design, Tsukineko and Scrapbook Adhesive's 3-D Foam Squares!!! I don't usually mix and match so many companies but this time the mood just hit and this is what happened!!! :) ENJOY!
This week our sponsor over at Card Positioning Systems is Our Daily Bread Designs. Our Daily Bread Designs has a beautiful collection of Scripture/Inspirational stamps, and they are constantly adding more to their beautiful line. Here I have used one of their newest released sets called Scripture Collection 2 as well as an older set called Sing to the Lord. As you can see I stamped the floral branch image onto my Baby Blue Light Prismatics cardstock using Versamark ink, then embossed with Opalescent Embossing Powder to create a shimmery, glittery background paper. One of the best things about stamping is that you can create your own patterned cardstock!!! :) Enjoy!!
Supplies: Stamps: Scripture Collection 2, Sing To The Lord - Our Daily Bread Designs Cardstock: Toothy White, Natural Smooth, Spring Willow Light, Baby Pink, Baby Blue Light Prismatics - Prism Papers Ink: Versamark, Tuxedo Black Memento - Tsukineko Dies: Classic Scalloped Rectangle, Classic Rectangle - Spellbinders Punch: Treading Water Border Punch - Fiskars Other: Ribbon & Opalescent Embossing Powder
A super quick post here today! :) As you read this I am on my way to spend some time with my family in sunny & warm Florida! :) This card is based on this week's CPS Sketch! I will admit...it was a bit tough for me but I think I got it to work out ok!!
While I was at CHA we ( in the Prism booth ) were right across the aisle from Scrapbook Adhesives. Well they were demoing their Adhesive Sheets.
They are great little THIN layers of adhesive that can be applied to lots of things and used in a variety of applications....the best part is that you do not need to have a machine to adhere them! You can just peel off one side, stick your stuff and peel off the other!!! Well that gave me an idea, so I cut THIN STRIPS of the Adhesive Sheets, adhered one side to my paper in a straight line, then removed the other side and added glitter. Because the sheets can be cut to any width you want they are the perfect way to add a bit of bling without going to crazy! Also, due to the thin layer that actually sticks to your paper you don't have to worry about an edge not being fully covered as you would with a thicker "tape". I can safely pop this in a paper envelope and know that once I mail it, my receipient will be able to easily remove the card without having to take extra care! LOL
I hope you enjoy!!
Supplies: Stamps: Flourished Christian Symbols - Our Daily Bread Designs Cardstock: Frosted Teal, Intense Teal, Baby Pink Prismatics - Prism Papers Ink: Tuxedo Black Memento Ink - Tsukineko Embellishments: Flower, leaves and Brad - Creative Impressions Glitter: Art Institute Glitter - Pink & Green from Sassy kit 3L Adhesive Sheets trimmed for glitter strips. Glue Pen for flowers and Leaves
Today I really needed to just get some personal items done and in the mail before leaving for CHA on Saturday. And I am happy to report, I have gotten today's card done, a card, magnet and gift bag done for my InLaws Anniversary (tomorrow's post), two pieces of jewelry that are almost done, and I have gotten a start on another clay/ jewelry project that I hope to finish up tonight and post this weekend if it comes out like I had hoped! But for now let's take a look at this card.
It is pretty basic really but I have few things I did to spice it up. first of all the top two layers are die cut using Curved Rectangles by Spellbinders. The bottom layer is Metallic Gold cardstock by Prism Papers...it adds a simple sheen that really wakes up the card in real life! Then the top layer is Natural Smooth by Prism but before removing the die, I used my Copic Airbrush System to create a light mottled texture to the entire surface, heavier at the edges...as you can see. The stamps are Flourished Christian Symbols by Our Daily Bread Designs. I adore this set. This is my first time using it but I know I will be getting ALOT of use out of this one in the coming months! I hope you enjoy the card! See you tomorrow!
Well here is my CPS card for this week...kinda different from yesterday's card isn't it? :) I love that a sketch is just that...a sketch...it is a starting point to jump off of....a place to get the creative juices flowing. :)
Supplies: Cardstock: Tawny Med & Dark, Spring Willow Med Prismatics; Simply White - Prism Papers Patterned paper: K&Co - Blue Awning Collection Stamps: Light of the World - Our Daily Bread Designs Ink: Rich Cocoa Memento - Tsukineko Ribbon: Cream and Brown Mini Check - Creative Impressions Markers: Copic Sketch - Copic Dies: Symbology - Spellbinders Acrylic Paint & Brads
I just think this bird image from Our Daily Bread Designs new set Sing To The Lord is just GORGEOUS...I first die cut my main image cardstock using Spellbinders Scalloped Square, then embossed it, then I used it as a mask while I sponged the edge and then painted over top of that using Twinkling H2O's....then I stamped my image and used Copics to color it...then removed the die once I was all done... :) and hey do you like the coordinated ribbon??? YOU CAN COLOR SHEER RIBBON WITH COPICS!!! That was a fun little discovery for me today!
Supplies: Stamps: Sing To The Lord & Fishers of Men - Our Daily Bread Designs Ink: Rose Bud, Rich Cocoa Memento Dye ink - Tsukineko Markers: Copic Sketch Markers Cardstock: Prism Papers Die:Scalloped Square Dies, Tan Embossing Mat - Spellbinders Twinkling H2Os - Luminarte Glitter - Sparkling Snow Glitter - Sparkle N Sprinkle Glue: Two Way Glue - Zig Paper Crimper - Fiskars Ribbon: Cream on Cream Swirl colored with Copic Markers.
