Welcome to the Sizzix Fresh Vintage blog hop this is the 9th hop of 12; every Tuesday and Thursday for 6 weeks, one of the 12 dies in Eileen Hull's collection has been or will be featured. I am thrilled that Eileen asked me to participate in showcasing her new Sizzix dies and can't wait to check out what everyone else has done with these dies.
To view the hop, you can click on the Fresh Vintage blinkie on the sidebar or immediately below. This will take you around to all of the designers on the hop OR you can see all the links on Eileen Hull's blog.
I began by die cutting one piece of the White Little Sizzles mat board. I then inked it all over, back, front and creases using Tsukineko's Rich Cocoa Memento Dye ink and Jumbo Sponge Dauber. I then stamped the dictionary4me image using Wheat VersaMagic just to add a subtle texture to the entire surface of the case. I then used Coffee Bean Brilliance to stamp the branch image from branches4flowers and adhered small Prima flowers to the image. I then embellished the flowers using self adhesive pearls in the centers. Creating a small "for you" tag as a final touch and using the same flower/branch technique was the finishing touch...
I was blessed with a few kid free hours this morning...I woke at 5:26 and no one is up yet...and it's past SEVEN! YIPPEE!!!
I jumped into the studio and decided to try some stamping onto canvas. I am not sure if you have made the mental note or not but canvas is HOT HOT HOT right now. Well I had purchased a small piece when I was at Walmart a while back. It was 60" wide so I just got a .110 length...for FIFTY FOUR CENTS....I could make about forty of these cards using just that little piece of canvas I bought!! But anyway, I first die cut the canvas using a Sizzix die...but I then found that my Spellbinders Dies WILL CUT THIS THICK CANVAS...(Look for a tutorial soon!)
I then stamped onto my die cut canvas using Clearsnap Colorbox Pigment Ink and The Stamps of Life - Hello2You set. Now notice, the "you" on my card doesn't have the "?"...well I simply snipped it off from the image from the set that read "you?"...Just take very sharp scissors and two snips and you can now make sentiments like "Hey you" & "hello you" and anytime you need the "?" you can use it by itself or put it right back up against the "you" it came attached to. Bingo! Custom Stamps! LOL I also used the "Thanks2You" set for the spray of wiry flowers that are behind my main image.
Tomorrow from 11:00AM - 1:00PM I will be at Charleston Scrapbooking doing my Tuesday "Let's Do Lunch" featurette. I would love it if you could come on out! Just bring your lunch, have a seat, sit and chat, and watch and learn as I demo this fun little post it note holder. I will be teaching Scoring, Inking, Die Cutting and more! So be sure to pop on in and "Let's Do Lunch"!! :)
Well, we have reached the final week of the Sizzix Triple Play Blog Hop and today we are featuring a fun little die by Eileen Hull called Treat Bag Toppers. Tons of fun in one die and everyone you decided to give these little gifts to will LOVE YOU FOR IT! :)

So now for my little treat bag topper. I decided to make a little cardstock box and top it using the little handled topper. I cut a 12x12 piece of cardstock down to 10 1/2" x 7 and then scored at , 2", 5", 7" and 10" then turned a quarter turn and scored at 2". I then assembled the box using the 2,5,7,10 method found here I loved the topper because it had that fun little handle top to it! I hope you enjoy!
I have been ultra busy planning and helping pull off Thanksgiving dinner for 125 people at my church, redoing the studio, meeting magazine deadlines and all the rest of the fun that accompanies this busy Holiday season! HI!!! I have missed you!!! I have to photograph all the JEWELRY I have created in the past two weeks! Lots of Christmas gifts on order this year! YAY!
Today I have a really fun die to share with you! It is item number 656053 Sizzix Bigz XL Die - Album, Brackets by Brenda Pinnick. I decided to go way outside the box and create a fun little scented sachet with it. I simply stamped the die cut canvas using DecoArt Acrylic Paint and a fun little (or should I say BIG) stamp by Donna Downey for Prima Marketing Inc. I embellished the plants using some Ranger Stickles and buttons tied with Silk Fiber that I bought from Mudhound Studio -Jmozart on Etsy! She has the most lovely selection of fibers and ribbons. I sewed the two layers of canvas together, leaving a small opening so I could fill it up. I then lightly filled it with dried balsam tops from Vt. Balsam and sewed up the opening, then picked at the edges until I had frayed the edges. Finally I again used some Recycled Sari Ribbons from Mudhound to create a sweet little handle and my project was complete. I hope you enjoy it...I sure have...let me just say, my studio smells like Christmas...you can't beat that fabulous Balsam fragrance....delightful!
Here's a close up of the stamping and the embellishing... :)
WANNA CHANCE TO WIN THIS??? Leave a comment with an email and I will draw for a winner on Saturday and pop this fun little gift in the mail!
This week's Sizzix Triple Play Blog Hop focus die is on the Sizzix Original Die, Flower, Beauty Bloom by Brenda Pinnick. I was at Niki's house and decided I would use the beautiful die cut National Nonwovens Felt flowers to create a fun little headband! I started by getting out a needle and thread to help gather each layer and to stictch it in place. I really wanted there to be fullness and to alter the one dimensional feel of the simple die cut. Once I had all my layers altered and ready to go I simply stitched it onto a headband that I had altered with a bit of Prima ribbon. I then added a finishing touch of Stickles here and there and it was complete. While the photo shows the shot on my head, once I got home from my visit to Niki's, my little three year old angel quickly claimed this sparkly hair piece for herself...and I have to admit, she looks way better in it than I do! LOL I hope you enjoy the rest of the hop! There is a widget to the right so you can just click forward or back on the loop!
Oh and PS - We also made one for Niki's tiny Princess Gigi! Isn't she SWEET??
Well here we are on week two of the seven week Sizzix Triple Play Blog Hop! Today I am featuring the Twist Cube by Karen Burniston. There are tons of ways to use this fun cube from scrapbooking, to cardmaking to gifts and home decor. Today I decided to make a surprise package ornament. Tuck a small gift inside the ornament (I think a Chick-fil-A, Mc Donald's or ToysRUs gift card would be fun!) inside the cube. Decorate the cube making sure to leave the side slip open. Then on Christmas Eve give each child a "clue" in a card telling them there is something hidden on the tree for them; all they have to do is find it. Decorate each child's card to match their special ornament. Once they find the ornament show them how to remove the special gift! :) I hope you enjoy my take on Karen Burniston's Twist Cube!

On of my favorite things that I did for this issue was a simple bread wrap. I wanted to show people that a gift doesn't have to be expenseive and take months to create. So I used my beautiful Gina K Designs stamps and Sizzix dies and whipped up this little bread wrap to dress up a super easy banana bread recipe that I made up that starts with - get this - a CAKE MIX!!! I hope you like the project and that you will consider RUNNING to get the magazine...not in the mood to run? Well why not just subscribe...give yourself an early Christmas gift!!! :)
