Fast Friday - A Triple Dip! (make that a QUADRUPLE DIP!)

I have been blogging ahead this month so that I could stay on top of things and today was the first day I had not loaded in advance... I am glad I didn't though because there were a few SUPER FUN challenges that I decided to do! :)

The first is for Clean & Simple Stamping 157. I loved this sketch when I say Amy's card here and made a mental note to play along..now I have nearly missed my chance! LOL

Well earlier this week I had shared a card using Kraft cardstock  & my CPS Sketch.  Beth had commented and invited me to play along at The Kraft Journal Challenge (Use Kraft CS & a Sketch) - So this card falls into their challenge again!

Then finally this card also falls into the CAS-ual Friday's Challenge to make a "small card" (4"x4" or smaller).

I used some really fun things on this card and thought now that you have a fun list of challenges to play along with this weekend you might want to know what I did for my card! :)

My stamps used are from Impression Obsession. They are the Cover A Card - Music & a sweet baby set that I can't seem to find online so it very well may be discontinued - so sorry! I inked the CAC with Tsukineko's Cotton White VersaMagic, then crumpled up a piece of scrap paper and pounced it accross the surface of the stamp so that I could create that "not perfect" stamped image. The sentiment is stamped using Midnight Black VersaMagic. A great ink for stamping onto lightly textured cardstock like this one here.

I then diecut my felt using Spellbinders Nested Duck die to do the little ducky and then I embellished him using some buttons from the button jar, some Cappuccino  Twine from The Twinery & a mini pearl from Want2Scrap. Enjoy!

 

 

 

My Card Positioning Systems Card of the Week

If you have spent ANY TIME AT ALL on my blog you know I have a special spot in my heart for Impression Obsession stamps...it's like they climb into my hands and the projects make themselves...I have a few companies like that and IO is one of em! I also love working with Mitra (IO Owner) because she's a HOOT! An absolute hoot! LOL Anyway, my CPS card this week showcases some of my FAVE stamps from IO - Solid Florals...this is a serious MUST HAVE, ALWAYS REACH FOR set for me! My two year old recently scattered the stamps from this set all over the house and I am still missing a few...I am sooo bummed..... But I still have this one and so I hope you enjoy!

CPS 226 - Great sketch to get the juices flowing!

I happened to have some time this morning before going to church to start making a card...and I thought to myself, "Hey! It's SUNDAY, CPS always loads their new sketchs on SUNDAYS!!! YAY!" I miss being on this team! It's a great team of girls and the sketches that Tami comes up with are always fab!

So, anywho! I popped over to Card Positioning Systems  and decided this was a PERFECT sketch to use today. CPS226 is being sponsored by DRG Publishing (Publishers of CardMaker) & Copic so I of course had to use a main image I could color using my Copics!! :) I had a few new sets of Spellbinders Dies come in this last week so I decided to use my Fleur de Lis Doily Motif...oh how gorgeous is this die set??

My stamped images are from Layers of Color....listen, if you haven't been there yet, you simply MUST check out their adorable line! Talk about AWESOME! I love the stamps and the ladies there are a pure delight to work with! Their newest release comes out TOMORROW - they have a kickin' team of ladies who will be displaying projects for our viewing pleasure all day tomorrow and a blog hop with PRIZES...guess where I will be tomorrow at eight am! LOL

Pixie Dust Paperie: Sketch Challenge

Today over at Pixie Dust Paperie Blog there is a sketch challenge. And while I don't have this month's kit, I thought I would play along anyway, it's a great sketch. Head on over and check it out, Kirsty always has AWESOME prizes for those that participate! I had all these papers and stickers from a line of paper from Doodlebug Design that I was given for having a card published in CARDS magazine. I knew I would get around to using it, I just needed the right push! LOL The "thickers" are from an old set by American Crafts and I just had to have them when I saw them...they are FABRIC covered chipboard...talk about FUN!

City Crafter Challenge #42 & MFT Getting Sketchy #5

I have a dual challenge card for you today! The challenge over at CCCB is "All you need is love" - you have to use the word "love" or a heart on your card. I was able to incorporate both! Yipee! And now I have my DH's Valentine's Day card done too! WHOOT!  The sketch was a really fun one from MFT! You have to check it out. :) Enjoy!

Jingle Belles 05 - Merry & Bright

Today I decided to take part in the Jingle Belles Christmas Card Challenge. They had a sketch brought to them by Amy Tsuruta and it was a perfect sketch to make some quick and easy Christmas cards. And since I have high hopes of making one or two Christmas cards each week between now and the beginning of November, I figured it was a great way to jump start this ambition. :) I went ahead and made two cards at one time so that I could accomplish my goal for this week EARLY IN THE WEEK! Black & White Anniversary

Well we have been down for the count these past few days with an awful stomach bug/fever virus...It seems LK our 1 1/2 year old got it the WORST, poor lovey.... And with all this came the stark realization that I hadn't made my inlaws an anniversary card! Well, you know, here's a tip - look around and get creative if you need a card quick!!! For this card, I had already made it up for one of the challenges over at Scrapbook Heaven last week, and done it as a thank you card...but then when I realized I needed an anniversary card, I simply took my heat tool and heated up the sentiment layer and removed it, then I stamped a new one and placed it right where the last sentiment layer had been! :) Talk about a fast fix! Another reason I love working wiht 3-D Foam Squares as an adhesive! LOL

So, here's my best advice for today - when you don't have energy and something needs to be done PRONTO - take a look around and see if you can use something else to improvise with! :)  I hope you liked BOTH cards! Enjoy!

Well there is one going on at Scrapbook Heaven Forums right now! If you want to pop in and do a challenge or two! :) I did this card using the All About January crop - A. A. Milne's Birthday challenge which was a sketch combined with the challenge to use a number on the front. :) Since my honey's bday is this week I thought it the perfect time to get his card made and ready for him . :) Enjoy!

Does anyone else think 2009 is going too fast??

Surely Christmas is not just around the corner...is it??? Well no matter what I tell myself I can not deny that we are now an ENTIRE WEEK INTO NOVEMBER!!! Amazing I tell you, simply amazing!

Well today I have my Unscripted Saturday Sketch card for you! :) The funny part about this card is that I AM THE SKETCH AUTHOR! Woohoo!! I chose to use some of my new goodies from Jacksonbelle today! She got in the fun fun fun new Christmas and Valentine's lines by My Minds Eye...oh so lovely...if you haven't seen em yet, get over there and fall in love right along with me ok??
My main image is one of my favorite Santa images from Impression Obsession. I stamped him then watercolored him. I used the Nesties^TM Long Classic Rectangles dies from Spellbinders^TM. I love that I can just cut them to the length I need and they still look awesome! :D I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend, take some time to make a Christmas card or two! Enjoy!

I MADE A LAYOUT!!! :D

Hahaha I bet you are all amazed aren't you? I don't do layouts as much as I wish I did! I have been trying to do two a month but this month only seemed to squeak in one... :( Anyway this was for the Show Us Your Backsides Challenge over at Inspire Me - Webster's Pages Ning Community. (If you haven't joined you really should! Lot's of fun stuff there!)
What fun it was to really focus on the backsides of the papers! :)

This was the first time I have used my Heirloom Scroll Border from Spellbinders and I just have to say: "I AM IN LOVE"...what a beautiful edge it gives to the paper!!! Enjoy!
