If you have spent ANY TIME AT ALL on my blog you know I have a special spot in my heart for Impression Obsession stamps...it's like they climb into my hands and the projects make themselves...I have a few companies like that and IO is one of em! I also love working with Mitra (IO Owner) because she's a HOOT! An absolute hoot! LOL Anyway, my CPS card this week showcases some of my FAVE stamps from IO - Solid Florals...this is a serious MUST HAVE, ALWAYS REACH FOR set for me! My two year old recently scattered the stamps from this set all over the house and I am still missing a few...I am sooo bummed..... But I still have this one and so I hope you enjoy!
Heartfelt Thanks

I think I have taken it upon myself to create atleast one very masculine layout with each month's kit...even if the kit is filled with delightfully girly papers and embellishments like this month's kit "Summer of Love".
I had a few really old photos of my little brothers playing ball and this shot was one I have always wanted to scrap...well the striped side of the Webster's Pages paper and the beautiful gray card stock in the kit was perfect to pull this layout together. I simply cut 1.5" squares and rotated the stripes each time I laid one down so that they weren't going in the same direction.
I used the Heidi Swapp Clear Extras and just added a bit of paint to the back to help the sentiment stand out just a bit from the dark BG card stock.
The Country Farm Stand Kit at Pixiedust Paperie is so very inspiring. I must admit, I have been highly stressed out about making sure I showed the versatility of this kit. And just when I thought I was done I realized this kit had the PERFECT colors for a girly gift tag project I needed to create. I went to a Girls Craft Night Out at a friends house last week and one of our projects was creating soy candles in “recycled” tea cups. I chose this sweet tea cup thinking that my mom would love it as a gift for Mother’s Day…but I needed to spice it up just a bit with a tag. Pulling a bit of everything from tags and ribbons to papers, cardstock and the little rose embellishments I feel like this tag “created itself” to just go perfectly with this sweet tea cup candle. Enjoy~

Today I have the privilege of sharing with you projects I created using the final die templates to be revealed : S4-227 Nesting Pumpkins. S4-227 Nesting Pumpkins is a set of five die templates that will make all your Autumn creations sing! I have also used S4-226 Harvest Borderabilities Petite that Heidi revealed on day 6 of the Blog Frenzy and S4-233 Labels Nine that Debbie revealed on day 10!
First I have created a scrapbook layout using photos of my oldest daughter in the pumpkin patch:
I have a step out tutorial on how I created the inky little pumpkins, read on:
Step 1: Begin by cutting the number of Nesting Pumpkins you will need using various types of patterned paper or cardstock. Here I chose to use two different patterned papers.
Step 2: Use your sewing machine to add a bit of interest, texture and dimension to the edges of your pumpkin as well as create the look of creases running down the middle of the pumpkins.(if you have a sewing machine GREAT!, If not don't worry I will show you how to get around this step).
Note how I just sewed around the outer edge on the largest pumpkin, then just the middle on the middle sized pumpkin?
If you don't have a sewing machine, simply use a paper piercing tool or a large needle and pierce holes in your pumpkin!
Step 3: Use a glue dot to adhere just a bit of ribbon and or hemp to the stems of each pumpkin.
Now we want to get a bit inky - so grab some neutral colored inks, I choose to use a few Distress Inks for this project, but any ink will do the trick.
Step 4: Use a sponge to ink the edges of your pumkins. Note the difference a bit of ink makes? The pumpkin on the right is not inked, the pumpkin on the left has been inked. Repeat on all of your pumpkins and you are ready to use them on your final project!
Now onto the die cut, embossed and stenciled border I have under the large photo... begin by die cutting and embossing, then air brush with a layer of E55 Light Caramel Copic ink.
Add a bit more color using E08 Brown Copic ink.
Remove the die template to reveal the stenciled details and embossing. But be sure not to throw away that bottom scrap piece...it makes for a great accent!
Take all of your elements you have created and use them on the layout! - Here it is again -
I also created a cute little gift bag and card and I used the extra "scrap piece" from the Harvest Borderabilties Petite along the bottom edge of my card, doesn't it make a great accent??

The Contemporary
Hearts Pendant die templates contains a large die, a small die and two accent dies
all ranging from just over three and a half inches wide down to just over an
inch. Designed with high detail and sized for layering, the possibilities are
endless!
When I first saw the die I was assigned to use I knew exactly what I wanted to
make... a Christmas Ornament! I love adding new ornaments to my tree each year
and so I thought, why not start now rather than wait for that last minute rush
during the holiday season? Then I also thought it would be fun to make a
matching gift that could be kept out year round and so that is how the framed
artwork piece came to be! :)
I have created a step by step instructional tutorial, with photos, showing how
to create the ornament. For the framed artwork, simply use steps 1-7 to
recreate the layered pendant. Enjoy~
Victorian Layered Christmas Ornament
Designed By: Keri Lee Sereika
Supplies:
Three largest dies from - Contemporary Hearts Pendant - Spellbinders
Patterned Paper & Ruffled Taffeta Trim - Webster's Pages
Cardstock: Vanilla Cream & Birchtone Dark Prismatics - Prism Papers
Papier-mâché Rectangular Ornament - Craft Store
Krylon Hammered Finish Metallic Spray Paint
Foam Tape or 3-D Foam Squares - Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L
Gems and other Embellishments as you see fit. (Before beginning spray paint all sides and edges of papier-mâché ornament and
allow to fully dry.)
Step1 - Begin by die cutting one layer of each shape and remove from dies. You may need
to use a paper piercer or needle to help remove the die cut from the die. Each
die is designed with small holes in the back surface for just this very
reason...
Note: Due to the high detail of the dies we have found it is sometimes
beneficial to run the die through your die cut machine, turn one quarter turn
and run it through again just to be sure all edges and details have been
captured.
Step 2 - Fold the largest die cut image (the patterned paper one) in half matching the
edges.
Step 3 - Open the die cut and turn one quarter turn, fold in half again. Your die cut
image should now be creased in quarters. Open once again and turn one
eighth turn and fold in half.
Step 4 - Repeat folding and opening and turning one last time, then pinch the point of
each heart to create a "mountain / valley" fold pattern. Your die cut
shape should look like the one pictured here.
Step 5 - Place small pieces of foam tape or 3-D Foam Squares onto the top two layers
of cardstock die cut shapes and layer them onto one another and then onto
the patterned paper die cut shape.
Here is the final layered die image, isn't the detail and dimension LOVELY?
Step 6 - Use a hot glue gun to adhere trim to outside edges of painted papier-mâché
ornament base.
Step 7 - Adhere the layered Contemporary Hearts Pendant die cut to the painted papier-mâché
ornament using 3-D Foam Squares or foam tape. Embellish with gems to complete
your project!
And here is the framed art project I created to accompany my Victorian Christmas Ornament! :)
Thanks so much for hopping along with us and I hope
you enjoy my project & the rest of the projects the team has in store for
you!
Hahaha I bet you are all amazed aren't you? I don't do layouts as much as I wish I did! I have been trying to do two a month but this month only seemed to squeak in one... :( Anyway this was for the Show Us Your Backsides Challenge over at Inspire Me - Webster's Pages Ning Community. (If you haven't joined you really should! Lot's of fun stuff there!) What fun it was to really focus on the backsides of the papers! :)
This was the first time I have used my Heirloom Scroll Border from Spellbinders and I just have to say: "I AM IN LOVE"...what a beautiful edge it gives to the paper!!! Enjoy!
Supplies Used:
A Sweet Life Backsides, Storytellers Letters and Trims - Webster's Pages
Cardstock: Natural Felt, Espresso; Spring Willow Medium & Vanilla Cream Prismatics - Prism Papers
Dies: Heirloom Scroll Border, Labels Four Nestabilities - Spellbinders
Today I have had a HIGHLY PRODUCTIVE morning...it's amazing what I can do when I can't sleep....lol
A week or two ago I got an email from Steph over on PaperCraftPlanet asking me to take part in the weekly sketches over at Unscripted Sketches. They are a BRAND NEW site and are trying to get more people to participate...well it took me a few weeks but I got one done!!! This is for Unscripted Sketches 03. I decided to show off a new set from Renaissance By Design called Home Sweet Home. Isn't that little house just so sweet??? I also used two other sets they have called Darling Damask and Cherished Thanks. Lots of layered ink on this one! :)
I also put my Copics and Copic Airbrush System to good use...as well as three sets of dies by Spellbinders, Classic Oval, Classic Petite Oval & Labels One.... I am pleased with how it all turned out....
One last item I really wanted to point out...and that would be Prism Simply Smooth....it is the BEST cardstock for Copics and Stamping on...it has such a fine surface...you really need to try it out!!!
Have a happy Saturday! I have three more projects that I did this morning that I will be loading over the next few days! So keep your eyes peeled! LOL
First I have to say, THANK YOU...all of you are simply the best. It brings tears to my eyes to think of all the cyber friends I have who are thinking of me and lifting me up in prayer...keep it up... :) I can't tell you how blessed I know I am because of all of the care I feel from each of you and your precious comments...I cherish each and every one!!!
Second, GUESS WHAT???? I finally got to create something!!! Yeah I know can you believe it??? I am so excited to FINALLY have a project to share with you...and not only that....I got TWO done so you get one tomorrow too and it is a SCRAPBOOK PAGE!!!! WOOHOOO!!! If only you could see my grin....anyway, here is my card for today!
This week's sponsor over at Card Positioning Systems is Cornish Heritage Farms. And let me tell you, the set of stamps they sent to us to use is really beautiful!!!! It is called Ornamental Beauty. It is gorgeous...so many lovely images...but today I used mine to make a masculine card!! I needed a birthday card for my pastor this week and so I killed two birds with one stone!! :) And look again, I am trying out new layering of dies....do you like this one? It is Deckled Mega Rectangles layered onto Labels Two. Pretty nifty huh? The beautiful papers are from none other than Webster's Pages... They are having a challenge on their ning site to use the backsides of their papers...well my card doesn't really fit the "make a page or which lines you have to use" parts of the challenge but I was inspired to use the back sides of my papers to make this one! :) Enjoy!!!
Supplies: Stamps: Ornamental Beauty, Birthday Centers - Cornish Heritage Farms Cardstock: Papaya Puree Med, Desert Coral Dark, Birchtone Medium Prismatics - Prism Papers Patterned Papers : "Splendor & Bee Balm" from Reflections of Nature Collection, "Vine" from Feather Your Nest Collection - Webster's Pages Inks: Tuxedo Black, Rich Cocoa, Potter's Clay Memento Dye Ink - Tsukineko Dies: Labels Two & Mega Deckled Rectangles - Spellbinders
We have some of the best neighbors! This past Saturday we got our very first family dog! :) We bought a Weimaraner puppy who is now 8 weeks old. We named her Crickett.... Isn't she cute?? Anyway our neighbors came over yesterday with a little gift bag and card for Crickett...the note read "Crickett, welcome to the neighborhood" - How thoughtful is that??? So I thought Crickett should make them a Thank You note...well I made it, but she helped!!
