I think there are times where I need to just stop analyzing what I am doing and just start creating. You know, kinda turn off the noodle and start using the hands...I just think too much and get all worked up and then can't see the forest through the trees. I had a hard weekend quite frankly, where I spent a great deal of time thinking about just why I am doing what I do in the industry. Between books, magazines, guest design spots, consultation, free lance design....etc...you get the picture...I was just feeling like I was working to make everyone else happy and in the process losing sight of why I even DO THIS....
So today I got out my new set from Innovative Stamp Creations, Friends are Special and got to work making this card. :) Vintage paper is HUGE and HOT, HOT, HOT right now and so when I saw this set with this "dictionary" type background stamp I knew I would put it to good use! :) I stamped it onto cream cardstock then distressed it using a distressing tool and Toffee & Chestnut Roan Fluid Chalk inks from Clearsnap. Then I stamped the flower onto Grungepaper, cut it out and distressed and colored it using Burnt Sienna & Pumpkin Spice Fluid Chalk Inks...bet you thought you had to have a special ink to make it look so distressed, huh? LOL Use what you have and make it work! :) The embellishments are SUPER FUN, they are UPHOLSTERY TACS!!! Again people, use what you have on hand, and always look in interesting out of the way places for inexpensive embellishments! :) Enjoy!
