If there are two things I love it's finding beauty in hidden places and pairing obvious beauty with surprising elements. For this jewelry set today I went shopping at the local Ace Hardware store. There I found sheet aluminium and sheet brass & aluminium tubing. Taking what others may use to repair a ruined shed wall or flank the kick plate on a door I decided to go "up town glitz & glam" with. I used the sheet aluminum to create the pendant and earring domes by first hammering on a texture then cutting and shaping. I then did just one circle of brass sheet, added texture and then adhered it using aluminum tubing to create a riveted cold connection. It was nice...but not "done". There was an element of "Ahhhhh pretty" that was missing...out came my 8mm Connie Crystals...and "Ahhhh, pretty" happened! :) I hope you enjoy my "hardware bodywear" jewelry set! Have you ever used hardware store supplies for your handmade jewelry? I'd love for you to leave me a link so I can create a nice list to post later in the week! Enjoy!!! AND LEAVE ME A LINK TO YOURS!!!
