Sometimes you just want to make something that is simple, pretty and dual duty! Well this quick craft really hit all those highlights for me. Make it as a great gift, or keep it for yourself if you so desire. Now this would be a great craft to use any old bottle you may have laying around; a wonderful idea for an upcycled craft....but I fell in love with this bottle at World Market and was instantly inspired to use it for this Simple Cork Embellished Bottle.
The process was super easy, simple and quick.
1. I first cut the cork to fit around the bottle, overlapping slightly. I added just a tiny line of hot glue to hold the cork around the bottle.
2. I then cut two lengths of jute rope JUST long enough to get around the bottle. I wanted the ends to just meet up in the back. I then used my hot glue gun again to apply a line of hot glue all the way around the top and bottom edges of the cork and adhere the rope to the bottle, overlapping the edge of the cork.
3. Then I just simply adhered the flowers and buttons to the top right and I was done!
I am telling you, this entire craft was under 30 minutes and I love that I can use it as home decor as is, or fill it with water (use of a funnel is recommended) and then put a few floral stems in and it can work as a lovely embellished bottle/vase.
